Is an Organization required?
by Robert7 inso i had a shepherding call recently, and i laid out my concerns to the elders.
i said how can put full faith and trust into jehovah's organization, one which is directed by holy spirit, even though its past is littered with issues and errors (new light)?
i mentioned the redefining of generation, 1975 issue, and the un involvement.

Big question your really need to ask them next time you talk to them. "How can an organization be guided by Holy Spirit and no be Inspired?" The whole point in saying that anything is guided by holy spirit is to prove that the words said are inspired. You cannot have it both ways and claim that imperfect men run the Org. As soon as they say that it is run by imperfect men, than they have just confirmed that they are not guided by holy spirit. Holy Spirit "guidance" cannot be wrong because it is, according to the Watchtower, "God's active force". How can something from a source, from which it is impossible to be wrong, make a mistake? The very comment that they made is a perfect example of Cognitive Dissonance. They hold the belief that the Org is Guided by Spirit while also believing that the Org can make mistakes because it is run by imperfect men.

Assembly Resolutions
by DT ineven when i was a believing jw, i began to really dislike those fake assembly resolutions.
my biggest complaint was that we weren't given any time to think about them before we were called on to agree.
i thought they were pretty meaningless and stopped responding to them.

There's nothing more entertaining at an assembly than a "10 Point Resolution" that means absolutely nothing. Who, exactly, is impacted by these things? As soon as the dubs walk out of the building they are forgotten till assembly review night. Then it's all over. Big deal. Much ado about nothing. Basically a way to make dubs feel special at the convention.

When the Giants went up 28-16, I told my son that you can't hold Brady down for the wole game. Although I wanted the Giants to win, I knew if they didn't score every time they had the ball in the 2nd half, they would not win. The Pats are just too good. I don't know if they will win it all though. Like you said XJW, the pressure is really on now. Playoff football is different. But the Pats seem to be able to turn it up at will when the game is on the line. Congrats to all the Pats fans out there. Well done.

I could never make sense of ANY bible prophecy. None of them made any sense and when you get the dubs involved, well you see what happens. Ridiculous, to say the least. Show me one prohecy that can be proven as haqving occurred. This is not an open invitation to OBVES. I think that he and Jcanon are the same person. Their prophecies rival those of the dubs. How cazn anyone really stand on that platform and talk about these things as if they are true?
I gave a talk 1 time about where the year 1914 came from. I was 19 and had to just bite my tongue to give that talk. I did not believe 1 word of what I said but felt I had no choice. I later was able to convince myself that I was wrong because I hadn't put in the years of study that the society has to get to the point that they were at. I made myself believe that for years, but eventually I could no longer live with the idea of bible prophecy predicting a talk at an assembly 2000 years later. What is wrong with these bozos?

anyway, i just had a thought which made me stop in for a while.
i was discussing something with a friend the other day, i hadn't even started speaking nor had i brought up the core of my point before he started screaming like some wild manaic; he started making up "straw man" arguments one after the other ad infinum, yelling like a banshee and accusing me of all sorts of thoughts that i don't believe... it was really bazarre.

I went through the same thing with my dad before he died. He tried to pin me down as to what was my issue with JW's. I only spoke about things from the FDS. When he had no answer, he called me a fornicator and that was why I was an apostate. Funny thing is, I've been married for 20 years. With no way to deal with facts, their only response is to attack the messenger.

if not, why do you think it is sacred?
so whenever a person took the life of an animal, they were to drain the blood and not drink it because the blood represents the life and not theirs to take without god's permission.
